It was found out that due to high consumption of red wine by French people they are protected them from heart diseases. This has further lead to the research regarding he benefits of resveratrol. The recent studies have indicated that resveratrol has prevented the negative health effects of weight gain in mice including high insulin, high risk of death, enlarged liver and diabetes.
There are ongoing test regarding how safe is resveratrol for human consumption. There are resveratrol supplements that are available in the market but since they are not regulated by FDA, there is always a risk in their consumption.
